Landslide Susceptibility Assessment for Maragheh County, Iran, Using the Logistic Regression Algorithm

Landslide susceptibility assessment is the globally approved procedure to prepare geo-hazard maps of landslide-prone areas, which are highly used in urban management and minimizing possible disasters due landslides. Multiple approaches providing for landslides have one specification. Logistic regression a statistical-based model that investigates probabilities events received extensive success landslide assessment. The presented study attempted use logistic application Maragheh County hazard risk map. In this regard, several predisposing factors (e.g., elevation, slope aspect, angle, rainfall, land use, lithology, weathering, distance from faults, river, road, cities) identified as main responsible occurrence 20 historical sliding maps. As verification, models were controlled by operating relative characteristics (ROC) curves reported overall accuracy According results, region located moderate high-hazard zone. north northeast parts show high suitability Verification results indicated AUC estimated training set 0.885, testing 0.769. To justify model, LR comparatively checked with benchmark learning models. Results performance reasonable.
